Kristiansand is Norway’s fifth largest city with a population of 77,600. Founded in 1641 by King Kristian IV, the town was designed in the Renaissance style. More than 350 years later it has blossomed into a lively town with restaurants, canals, and a thriving cultural environment. Being the trade and communications centre for south of Norway, it has excellent train, ferry and airplane national and international connections.

An excellent resource for the English speaker on Kristiansand is the Kristiansand Survival Guide. http://krsguide.com
